Oil prices tumbled 5.48%, settling at $67.10

The Brent crude oil price was trading at $67.10 a barrel. This was a decrease of 5.48 per cent from the previous close of $70.99. Today's maximum price was $70.93, while the minimum traded price was $67.00. In the UK, the Brent oil price was £52.95 a barrel, -5.58 per cent.

The U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil price was down 6.45 per cent, from $61.42 to $57.46. In pounds, the WTI oil price was £45.34, -6.55 per cent.

The Dollar Index, which tracks the U.S. dollar's performance against the basket of currencies, fell 0.23 per cent to 97.83 from 98.06 points.

The gold price stood at $1286.10, +0.93 per cent.
