Gold price fell 0.46% to $1285.50

The gold price was trading at $1285.50 a troy ounce (31.1 grams). The price decreased by 0.46 per cent from the previous close of $1291.50. Today's maximum price was $1294.00 and the minimum traded price was $1284.00. In the UK, the gold price was £953.49, -0.23 per cent.

The silver price rose 0.05 per cent, from $16.371 to $16.38. In the UK, the silver price stood at £12.150, +0.30 per cent.

The Dollar Index, which tracks the U.S. currency's performance against the euro and five other currencies, traded up 0.19 per cent to 93.52.

Brent crude oil futures, the international benchmark, were trading at $79.81, +0.67 per cent.
